Bird and nature trips

Hiking trips

We arrange hiking trips to Soeginina cliffs located at Vilsand national park. First we drive to Atla, continuing close to Soeginina and start hiking towards cliffs. The route follows Soeginina coast line. We'll arrive to the cape peak and eat picnic meals. Sea eagles and grey seals are living in the area. In the return trip we walk in a lush deciduous woodland, where a lot of plants typical for this forest type are growing - among others orchids. In the return way to Ratsukievari we still deviate to the monument of drown sailors. Duration ca. 3-4 hours.

We arrange also trips of different lengths to Pilguse bay and it's surroundins. In addition, we offer also nordic pole walking trips.

Fishing trips
Fishing trips are available by the order. The most common catch is flatfish but depending on the season also salmon, whitefish, pike and various small fishes are caught. In autumn you may also cature a eel. Fishing trips require always an advance order. Different size boats are available.

Nature- and bird trips
Grey seals are nesting in the near by islands. They can be easiest seen in spring and autumn time. The nearby sea bays, that are part of Natura-2000-reserve, are protected nesting places for many birds; consequently for example sea eagles and a lot of different types of water birds are nesting in this district. Nearby Karala-bay beaches are popular resting places for birds during their spring and autumn passage.

There are plenty of beautiful flowers in surroundings and among others orchids are flourishing in spring time. 34 different types of orchids are growing in Saaremaa. (additional information of plant www.saareeco.ee) Our trip passes juniper bushes and stone beaches where thousands of years old fossils are found. In autumn there are growing among others chanterelles and funnel mushrooms in Saaremaa.

Nature trip can be done independently or with a guide who has been ordered in advance; by foot or with horse. Trip can also be arranged with old soviet army vehicles (5 cars), from which few are convertible. We drive slowly through Natura-2000 district getting familiar to very versatile nature and innumerable avifauna.
